Endorsements for Apocalypse Later
We all have blind spots. Sometimes our standard responses need to be shaken and this volume does just that. Protesting the typical and simplistic messages that reduce information about the Middle East to quick and simple political slogans or eschatological schemes, Murray cries out persuasively that our evangelical agenda often abandons or minimizes the Gospel message in the process. In so doing, we build more walls instead of carrying out our Lord's commands. Murray calls us back to the Person of Jesus and the message of His death and resurrection, pleading with us to restore its centrality, contrary to the periphery discussions that not only detract from the Gospel but actually offend the very folks we most want to reach. We need to hear and heed Abdu's timely warning.

Relations in the Middle East are a mess and no one seems to have a solution. This book by former Muslim Abdu Murray provides a perspective that is level-headed, insightful, and caring. Murray, an attorney practicing in the Detroit area, is of Lebanese heritage and lives in an area that is densely populated by Muslims and has a significant Jewish population . Thus, he is well acquainted with the mindset shared by many Muslims and Jews in both the Middle East and North America. This book is a valuable contribution for Christians, informing them why they are talking past Muslims and Jews, and how to turn that around.

Written from the illuminating perspective of a Christian who grew up in a Lebanese Muslim home, Murray’s book offers a much needed cross-centered perspective to address “the Middle East puzzle.” He presents a genuinely biblical and more-fruitful alternative in response to the strife, suffering, and injustices this region has endured. Murray proposes a bold—and far more promising—way forward.
